DOCTOR STRANGE Connection to Thanos Teased by Director Scott Derrickson

If you follow director Scott Derrickson on Twitter, then you know the guy is very excited about bringing Doctor Strange to life for Marvel. He's always posting cool Doctor Strange comic art, and I imagine this is stuff that's inspiring the story he's developing for the movie.

His most recent tweet teases Doctor Strange's connection to the villain Thanos. As you know, Phase 3 of Marvel's plan leads up to Avengers: Infinity War, which will feature our favorite heroes battling the Mad Titan. Benedict Cumberbatch's Strange will be involved with this battle, so it makes sense that there would be a connection.

This connection is Death, a character I hope will be included in the MCU, especially since Thanos is involved, because it's Death that inspires Thanos to cause absolute chaos in the universe and makes him want to destroy all of creation. This is all because Thanos wants to earn the affections of Death.

The image above that Derrickson posted is a comic cover with the headline "Dr. Strange Meets Death," and it came along with his caption, "As will we all..." In the comics, the sorcerer confronts Death in his domain, and ends up defeating it by merging with the spirit of Eternity. His master, The Ancient One, reveals that this is just part of his trials to become the Sorcerer Supreme, and since he's defeated Death, he will no longer age.

It would be so cool to see Death make an appearance in Doctor Strange. This tweet is not confirmation that Death will be in the movie, but it's something I've been wanting to talk about, and this gave me the opportunity. Death is a major link that would make complete sense to include in the film. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed.

Do you think Death will find its way into the MCU in Phase 3?
