DOCTOR WHO Actor Peter Capaldi Joins James Gunn's THE SUICIDE SQUAD, and Pete Davidson Is in Talks

The casting for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad continues. According to Deadline, Doctor Who actor Peter Capaldi is jumping on board the project, and Saturday Night Live‘s Pete Davidson has been in talks for a small cameo appearance.

There are no details given as to who they might play, but they join the previously announced cast of Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag, Idris Elba, David Dastmalchian as Polka-Dot Man, Daniela Melchior as Ratcatcher, Flula Borg, and Steve Agee will provide the voice of King Shark. Nathan Fillion andThor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi are also said to be joining the film as well.

Production on the film is said to start on September 23rd, and there’s a table reading for the DC film taking place on September 11th. The Suicide Squad is set to open in theaters on August 6th, 2021.
