DOCTOR WHO Showrunner Russell T. Davies Says He Knows Nothing About the Show's Future - "I'm Not Part of Those Rooms"
Fans got their most recent episodes of Doctor Who this past May, and despite the lack of major announcements from the studios in charge, many are wondering if the series will be back at all.
The show hit a rough patch in the last season or two, with many stating the sentiment that the typically liberal and accepting storylines and characters were taken a bit too far. Some attribute this to the return of showrunner Russell T. Davies, who also seems to have no idea what’s happening with the series’ future.
In a recent podcast interview, Davies was asked what's happening with Doctor Who. He responded, "There’s nothing to report, nothing’s happening. You’ll know when you know, when we know. I don’t know. Conversations are between the BBC and Disney.
“I don’t work for either of them. I work for Bad Wolf, so I’m not part of those rooms. So I literally don’t know. And even people I work with every day, so they couldn’t know what’s really going on. I’m going, ‘I don’t know.’ I really don’t know."
That must be a frustrating place to be in, not just for Davies, but for the other cast and crew members who work on the show. Hopefully the studios will get together and decide what’s in store for the fan-favorite series.
