Doctor Who's Matt Smith Joins PRIDE AND PREJUDICE AND ZOMBIES
Doctor Who star Matt Smith has landed another fun role in a movie. THR is reporting that the actor has joined the cast of the feature film adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's novel Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
This film has been in development for years, but it's finally set to start shooting on September 24th. Burr Steers (17 Again) is directing the film, which also stars Lily James, Sam Riley, Jack Huston, Bella Heathcote, and Douglas Booth.
The book is an expanded version of the Jane Austen classic, and the film will tell the story of Liz Bennett, a woman on a quest for love and independence amid the outbreak of a deadly virus that turns the dead into vicious killers. Smith will play a character named Mr. Collins, "a parson who is on the lookout for a wife and proposes to Bennett."
Smith recently wrapped production on Terminator: Genisys, and he makes his U.S. acting debut in Ryan Gosling's upcoming film Lost River.
