Dominic West in Final Talks to Play Prince Charles in Seasons 5 and 6 of THE CROWN
Actor Dominic West, best known for his roles in The Wire and The Affair, is in final discussions concerning taking on the role of Prince Charles in the fifth and sixth seasons of the hit Netflix series The Crown. If finalized, THR reports that West will take over for Josh O'Connor, and will star alongside Elizabeth Debecki as Princess Diana.
Imelda Staunton has already been confirmed as taking the throne as Queen Elizabeth II, with Lesley Manville set to play Princess Margaret and Jonathan Pryce cast as Prince Philip. Seasons 5 and 6 of the series will take the drama into the 1990s and early 2000s, “covering Prince Charles' split from Diana and his explosive affair with Camilla Parker-Bowles.”
Peter Morgan, the series showrunner, had said earlier this year that the show would end after Season 5, but soon changed his mind, saying the show would run its original six seasons, as planned. Morgan said, “As we started to discuss the storylines for series five, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six.”
Are you looking forward to the last seasons of The Crown? Season 4 will be available on Netflix on November 15th.
