Donal Logue Offered Commissioner Gordon Role in GOTHAM?
According to Latino Review, Sons of Anarchy co-star Donal Logue has been offered the lead role of Commissoner James Gordon in Fox's Batman inspired series Gotham. Logue is a freakin' great choice! The guy is a solid actor, and he was awesome in Sons of Anarchy. He's got that gritty, hard feel that this character needs. If he ends up taking the role I would be very happy. The actor denied it on Twitter though, saying,
@nerdbastards not true! I wish-would be awesome (but who could top Gary Oldman?) From what I heard, Gotham catches Gordon in his late 20's
Of course he could just being denying it until it's official. You never know with these kings of things. Yesterday Fox chairman Kevin Reilly announced that not only would the series focus on Gordon, but also a young Batman and the villains that will infest Gotham.
"The show won't have a bunch of characters you've never heard of. We see Detective Gordon, before he's a commissioner, all the characters you know, Bruce Wayne, the Penguin, all of them. It's Gotham teetering on the edge, and we see what makes these characters become who they are, [like] Catwoman. It's an operatic soap that has a slightly larger-than-life quality to it."
I'm convinced that this series is going to be great! The more I hear about it, the more excited I get.
