Donald Glover Explains Why SOLO Will Be a Lot More Fun Than Other STAR WARS Films
A lot of fans were worried about Solo: A Star Wars Story before those first two trailers were released. Now that we actually have an idea of what this movie will entail, for the most part, fans seem to be pumped up for it. Now, in case you are looking for something more to up your excitement, maybe Donald Glover's latest statement on the film will give you that.
While talking to Entertainment Tonight about the movie, Glover was asked how Solo will be different in tone than the other films in the franchise, and he explains that it will be a lot more fun.
"I think it’s just a lot more fun. All the Star Wars’ are really fun, but I think this movie – we know what’s gonna happen. We know they’re not gonna die. We know, kind of, what happens, but how we got there is, I guess, the crux of it. So, we’re allowed to have a lot more fun than, I think, in the other movies, where you have to deal with a lot of lineage and what’s going to happen. I think this movie’s just a fun summer film. I’m really excited about it. It’s really cool."
That sounds encouraging. I'm up for a Star Wars movie that has more fun than usual. That's probably why directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were hired in the first place. In the end, that didn't work out and they were replaced with Ron Howard.
All of the films in the Star Wars franchise manage to have a lot of fun and some amusing humor. It will be interesting to see how much farther Solo takes the fun and humor.
This got me to thinking, though. What is the most fun Star Wars movie that has been made? You can immediately cut out the prequels due to all of the Senate drama and the coarse sand. After thinking about it, I'd have to go with Return of the Jedi. Yeah, it may not be the best, but in my opinion, it definitely had a lot more fun than the rest of the Star Wars film. What film would you choose?
