Donald Glover’s ATLANTA Will Return To FX in 2021

If you’re a fan of Donald Glover’s Atlanta, you’re going to have to wait a while before it returns. During the FX’s Television Critics Assn. press tour, John Landgraf, chairman, FX Networks and FX Prods., announced that the Season’s 3 and 4 of the comedy series would not be ready until 2021.

The next two seasons are being referred to as “Part 1 and 2 of a new chapter in the series’ life”. The first part will consist of 10 episodes and will return in January 2021. Part 2 will consist of only eight episodes and it will be released in the fall of that year.

It was revealed that these 18 episodes will be shot in sequence and while the series will shoot in Atlanta, portions of one season will be shooting outside the U.S. In case you don’t remember, the Season 2 finale of Atlanta saw the characters getting on a plane.

Landgraf went on to say, “I can’t tell you how excited I am to do two more (seasons).” And when asked if there will more seasons of Atlanta beyond Season 4, he replied, “As long as (Glover) wants to do more Atlanta, we will do more Atlanta.”

Glover is a crazy busy guy these days, so who knows how much longer he will be able to keep Atlanta going. At least we have two more seasons coming next year!
