A fast-paced action-packed trailer has been released for a martial arts action comedy titled Enter The Fat Dragon. The movie stars martial arts superstar Donnie Yen and as you’ll see he’s wearing a fat suit and kicking ass!

This movie looks so weird and it’s the kind of film that I wouldn’t have expected to see Donnie Yen in, but at the same time, it looks chaotically fun and I want to watch it! I think you’re really gonna like what you see in this trailer. It mostly puts a focus on the crazy action in the movie, but if you’re curious as to what the story is about, here’s the synopsis:

Enter the Fat Dragon is a hilarious chronicle of the events that transformed super-fit super-cop Fallon Zhu (martial arts phenom Donnie Yen) into a glorified records clerk with a major snack cake habit. After a desperate request from an old colleague, Zhu teams up with a wily, wok-wielding restaurateur to solve a mysterious murder—and take his one last shot at regaining both his job and his fiancée.

There was an Enter the Fat Dragon movie released in 1978 which was directed by and starred Sammo Hung and it was a parody of Bruce Lee’s 1972 movie Way of the Dragon and many of the “Bruceploitation” movies that were made during that time. It’s been explained by Yen that his film is not a remake, it just shares the same title. The original movie followed an overweight, Bruce Lee-obsessed farmer who fights to help his family.

Enter The Fat Dragon was directed by Kenji Tanigaki and it’s being distributed by Well Go USA Entertainment. It’ll be released sometime this year.
