Don't Expect The CW To Pick Up LUCIFER, They're Happy with What They Have
After FOX canceled Lucifer, a lot of fans looked to The CW to possibly come in and save it because it kind of feels like it would fit into their network. Well, don't count on that happening! The CW president Mark Pedowitz indicated that the network is not interested in picking up the series, saying:
“We have not had conversations, there have been no discussions. We have been focused on own development, we are happy with what we have.”
For those of you who are fans of Lucifer and you watched the season finale, you know that it left us with a huge cliffhanger! The question is can Lucifer still be saved? He is the Devil so it might be kinda hard, but we'll see what happens. It's just not going to happen at The CW.
When talking about the series finale, showrunner Joe Henderson explained:
"As you saw in the finale, Chloe saw Lucifer’s devil face. Finally, proof that Lucifer really is who he said he was. No turning back. Chloe knows the truth. So that was the big thrust of season 4 – exploring Chloe dealing with those ramifications, and how it affected her relationship with Lucifer. Both professionally and personally. Can you work with the Devil? Can you LOVE the devil?"
Showrunner Ildy Modrovich went on to tease what will happen if the series does get picked up at another network:
"And we also had an exciting character from Lucifer’s past who was going to come in and mix everything up. A very personal, intimate figure who we won’t reveal the identity of yet… until we find out if we get the chance to tell the tale on a new network."
What did you think of the season finale? Do you think Lucifer will get picked up by another network?
