DORA THE EXPLORER Is Getting a Live-Action Adaptation
Paramount Pictures is developing a Dora the Explorer live-action feature film, and they’ve hired Puss In Boots scribe Tom Wheeler to write the script.
Back in 2012, College Humor released a funny fake trailer for a live-action movie, and it’s not really surprising to learn that Paramount is actually going to do it for real. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be as entertaining as what College Humor brought us.
The news comes from Deadline, who also reports that Wheeler is working on a new draft of the script for the adaptation of Micronauts, which will be a live-action version of the Hasbro science fiction toy line. That project has been in development at Paramount and Bad Robot for a few years already.
Dora the Explorer was one of the most annoying cartoons ever. My kids used to watch it all the time. Thankfully they’ve moved on to other annoying cartoons. I’ll do everything I can to get out of taking my kids to see that movie, just like I did for Jem and the Holograms. Sometimes parents need to draw the line on what movies they spend money on for their kids.
