Dream Confronts Lucifer in Extended Clip From Neil Gaiman's THE SANDMAN
We’ve got an extended clip to share with you today from Neil Gaiman’s upcoming series adaption of The Sandman. The clip features Dream/Morpheus (Tom Sturridge) in Hell where he confronts Lucifer Morningstar (Gwendoline Christie).
This scene is in Episode 4 of the serie,s and in it, Dream goes to Hell to reclaim his stolen Helmet of Dreams from one of the demons of Lucifer Morningstar. The scene also features Matthew the Raven (Patton Oswalt) and Lucifer's assistant Mazikeen (Cassie Clare).
In the series: “There is another world that waits for all of us when we close our eyes and sleep — a place called the Dreaming, where The Sandman, Master of Dreams (Tom Sturridge), gives shape to all of our deepest fears and fantasies. But when Dream is unexpectedly captured and held prisoner for a century, his absence sets off a series of events that will change both the dreaming and waking worlds forever. To restore order, Dream must journey across different worlds and timelines to mend the mistakes he’s made during his vast existence, revisiting old friends and foes, and meeting new entities — both cosmic and human — along the way.”
The show is based on the award-winning DC comic series written by Neil Gaiman, and it’s described as “a rich, character-driven blend of myth and dark fantasy woven together over the course of ten epic chapters following Dream’s many adventures.”
The series is being developed and executive produced by Gaiman, showrunner Allan Heinberg (Wonder Woman, Grey’s Anatomy), and David S. Goyer (Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Terminator: Dark Fate, Foundation).
The series will premiere on Netflix on August 5th, 2022.
