DreamWorks Announced That SHREK 5 Is Officially in the Works With Mike Myers, Eddie Murphy and Cameron Diaz Returning
DreamWorks has announced that Shrek 5 is officially in the works, and the movie will be released on July 1, 2026!
The announcement also confirms returning franchise voice actors including Mike Myers as Shrek, Cameron Diaz as Fiona, and Eddie Murphy as Donkey. Murphy recently hinted that work on Shrek 5, as well as an untitled Donkey spinoff film, were both in the works.
Shrek 5 has been in development, slowly moving forward for about a decade, with writer Michael McCullers hinting that it would bring "a pretty big reinvention" to the franchise as a whole.
