Drew Barrymore Says She Wants to Remake DEATH BECOMES HER With Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston
This is the era of remakes, and Drew Barrymore has a pitch for one she’d like to star in. During a recent episode of Barrymore’s talk show, she said she would love to remake Robert Zemeckis’ 1992 cult classic, Death Becomes Her, and she has her dream co-stars ready to go.
The original film stars Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Bruce Willis as a love triangle of sorts who are obsessed with youth, beauty, and living forever.
Barrymore wasn’t clear which of the leading ladies she would take on, but she did say that she would like Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston to play opposite her.
She explained, “We’ve batted around some ideas. As a joke, we say we’ll make the Three’s Company movie, but I’m really bullish on Death Becomes Her, a remake of that.” Both Barrymore and Aniston have starred in several films with Sandler, but this would be their first film all together, and I think it would be fantastic!
I love the original movie so much, and this particular cast would be hilarious in bringing the story to life again with a modern spin. For now, it’s just an idea Barrymore is rolling around, but I would love to see it happen.
I would add that Hannah Waddingham of Ted Lasso fame would be great to take on the part in the movie that was originally played by Isabella Rossellini.
Would you watch a remake of Death Becomes Her? If you haven’t seen it, you can stream it on Prime Video.
