DROPOUT's ULTRAMECHATRON TEAM GO! Finally Has a Release Date for October

Ultramechatron Team Go! is an upcoming comedy for DROPOUT that is a parody on the Kaiju and Sentai genres. The show stars Raphael Chestang, Katie Marovitch, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Jessica Ross, Rekha Shankar, and Mike Trapp who also serves as head writer. Well, if you’re excited for the series like me, you’ll be happy to know that the 12-episode series will begin airing on October 3 with the final episode of the season airing on December 12.

Kaiju monsters beware! Outside, they’re a giant robot defending their city; inside, they defend against each other’s incompetence.

In a statement, Trapp said:

This show is a blend of high concept sci-fi with unapologetically silly comedy. There’s an element of play at every level of production - it’s in the way the camera moves, how shots are cut together, where Easter eggs are placed in the art production and the incredible improvisation within the performances of our cast. It’s a fast-moving, joke-filled and technicolored dollop of joy.

Ryan Anthony Martin is directing Ultramechatron Team Go! and I have to say, if you enjoy CollegeHumor and parodies and the aforementioned genres, you’re in for a treat.
