Dudes Wear "Sexy" Halloween Costumes

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I love so much about it. I love seeing fun, creative costumes. I love parties and candy and things that are a little bit scary. What I don’t love are the "sexy" costumes Halloween stores and brands try to push on seemingly every woman. On top of being too cold for the season in 99% of climates, they are hella uncomfortable and oftentimes just plain stupid. They generally don’t make any sense, like the ladybug costume featured in this video (why are the spots on the boobs when they should be on the back? oh, because there is no fabric on the back), and generally aren’t even attractive. Here’s one that doesn’t make any sense, is unattractive, and has the benefit of being outrageously expensive. It’s the trifecta of suck.

Generally, guys don’t seem to mind these horrible, horrible costumes, or more likely, they just don’t have to think about them. Buzzfeed put together this funny video in which men try on some of the dumbest slutty costumes out there, with interesting results. And while I don’t think we should put any more pressure on women to conform to a man’s desires, one of these dudes is right — it is so much cooler to make your own costume.
