Dumbledore Recruits His First Army in New Featurette for FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE SECRETS OF DUMBLEDORE
Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is coming, and in preparation, Warner Bros. has released a new featurette that focuses on the first army that Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) recruits. In this film, the army is gathered together to save the world from the Dark Wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen).
The featurette includes interviews with the cast and crew, and it also includes some fun new footage from the movie that fans are of the franchise will enjoy. This looks like it’s gonna be a great movie!
In the story, Dumbledore calls on Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) and a team of brave individuals to prevent Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers and stop a looming wizarding world war. Their goal is to take down the most dangerous wizard in over a century as Grindelwald is pulling the world apart with hate.
Producer David Heyman talks about the army in the video, saying, "This is a band of outsiders who come together to perform this mission. Every single one of them is an outsider and doesn't really belong but does belong as part of this group. The army that is created is a bit like Dumbledore's Army in the Harry Potter films, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Dean but now Newt, Lally, Bunty, Kama, Theseus, and Jacob."
The synopsis for the movie reads:
Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?
The film's cast also includes Eddie Redmayne, Ezra Miller, Dan Fogler, Alison Sudol, Callum Turner, Jessica Williams, and Katherine Waterston.
J.K. Rowling’s frequent collaborator and Harry Potter franchise writer Steve Kloves co-wrote the script, and Harry Potter veteran David Yates returned to helm the new movie.
