DUNE Director Denis Villenueve Amusingly Reacts to DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE Popcorn Bucket
The director of the Dune films, Denis Villenueve, recently had some funny comments to make regarding the Deadpool & Wolverine popcorn bucket.
As you know, there was a popcorn bucket released for Dune: Part Two that was unintentionally crude. Then Marvel Studios decided to ride on the coattails of that and have Deadpool create a popcorn bucket for Deadpool & Wolverine.
That resulted in a bucket that will have fans shoving their hands in the mouth of Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine mouth, and now Villeneuve has some things to say about it, and he doesn't think will reach the instant meme status the previous popcorn bucket did.
He said: "They are jealous of our bucket and they are doing their best to try try and bring something horrific into the world. But, the Dune bucket is unmatchable.”
“I'm not saying I don't like the bucket. I'm just saying it was difficult to beat the Dune bucket. It was like one of a kind."
He’s right. The reason the Dune popcorn bucket was such a big hit and became a viral sensation is because there was no plan for it, everything about it was unintentional. No one set out to make a crude bucket, that’s just what audiences saw when it was released!
That’s what made the bucket such a big hit. Yeah, the Deadpool & Wolverine bucket is fun, but you just can’t beat the unintentional grossness of the Dune bucket.
