DUNE Is Getting a Tabletop RPG from Modiphius Entertainment

A new Dune tabletop RPG is on its way from the folks at Modiphius Entertainment called Dune: Adventures in the Imperium. According to ComicBook.com, players will “take control of Arrakis and the power of the spice Melange” as they try to keep their wits dealing with the political intrigue. You’ll encounter “deadly duels, feudal politics, and mysterious abilities” as you build your own noble house.

In Dune: Adventures in the Imperium, players will build their noble house, make a place for it in the Imperium, and fight for or against the Imperial throne. The game features the worlds found in the Dune sci-fi book series, from Frank Herbert's original novels to the prequels and continuations by Brian Herbert, and Kevin J. Anderson. These worlds are inhabited by elite agents, mentats, swordmasters, spies, Bene Gesserit sisters, treacherous advisors, and the desert Fremen, all of whom can join together to fight under your banner or tear it down. And as always, those that control the spice control the universe.

The game will use Modiphius’ 2d20 system for the core rules, which have been adapted by game designer Nathan Dowell. Fans will be able to pre-order Adventures in the Imperium this month, with each pre-order receiving a PDF preview for the core rulebook which will launch in Spring 2021. Are you pumped to visit the world that Frank Herbert created in an RPG format?
