DUNGEONS & DANCERS Will Combine D&D with Bellydancing

I learned a thing the other day. There’s a group called The League of Extraordinary Bellydancers, and they want to put on a Dungeons & Dragons show. The show is called Dungeons & Dancers and will feature the LXBD performing a D&D campaign “through dance and dialogue.” I have so many questions and am helplessly curious about Dungeons & Dancers. Here’s the premise though:

The story of Dungeons & Dancers follows our party as they search for an ancient artifact known as the Sanguine Amulet. All the danger and delights of an epic fantasy tale await them, but what sets this show apart is the original D&D adventure that inspired it. We wanted to evoke the feeling of sitting around a table with friends and enjoying the epic and ridiculous things that unfold as you play. And what better way to do that then actually play through a campaign? The end result is a story told through dance and dialogue that captures the vitality and magic of a game of D&D.

The show is set to premiere on August 24 in Durham, NC at the PSI Theater, but they need our help. To help cover some of the costs of the production, LXBD has set up a modest Kickstarter, and they’re already 80% funded at the time of writing. You can find out more information about LXBD on their website, and the Kickstarter has a lot more information about the Dungeons & Dancers show. Here’s a small taste of what I think we can expect from this magnificent sounding show from a previous one they’ve done.
