Dwayne Johnson Confirms JUMANJI 3 Is in Production and It’s the End of the Game
Dwayne Johnson just dropped a massive update about Jumanji 3, and it’s officially rolling the dice and heading into production. The actor shared the news on Instagram, along with some exciting behind-the-scenes footage and a surprising revelation: this next adventure will be the final chapter in the modern Jumanji saga.
Last month, Sony confirmed that the untitled Jumanji sequel was part of its 2026 release lineup. Now, Johnson has confirmed that cameras are about to start rolling in Los Angeles, where the cast has already reunited for a table read. He wrote:
“Officially kicking off production of JUMANJI, at our cast table read in Los Angeles - where we will film as well 👏🏾👏🏾 🥂 What a massive, fun, heartfelt adventure. Feels emotionally appropriate for our beloved JUMANJI franchise to end on this beautiful grace note of our final film.”
So, Jumanji 4 will be the last time we enter the game.
The post included videos and photos of Johnson alongside Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan, all gathered around a big table with scripts in hand. The team looked thrilled to be back together after several years apart. Johnson added another message for fans:
“Amazing to get the whole gang back together, and our jaws were hurting from laughing so hard 😂😂 We all talked about how much we’ve missed this kinda joy and fun 🥹😊 🤜🏾🤛🏻 Let’s make a good one.”
The last time audiences saw this crew was in 2019’s Jumanji: The Next Level, which left the story on a pretty wild cliffhanger as the game world had merged with the real one, just like in the 1995 Jumanji film starring Robin Williams.
That twist opened the door for endless possibilities, and it sounds like Jumanji 3 might bring everything full circle.
One of the coolest details Johnson revealed was a “dice necklace” his character, Dr. Smolder Bravestone, will wear in the new movie. According to Johnson, it’s a subtle nod to the original 1995 film.
He explained that the dice are “a little Easter egg” meant to pay “homage, love and respect to the great Robin Williams.”
Director Jake Kasdan, who helmed Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and The Next Level, is returning once again to close out the trilogy. The film is set to arrive in theaters on December 11, 2026, just one week before Avengers: Doomsday and Dune: Part Three.
