Dwayne Johnson Is Getting a Solo BLACK ADAM Movie in Addition to SHAZAM

Dwayne Johnson has been attached to the role of Black Adam since 2008, and we knew he would for sure appearin DC Entertainment's Shazam! movie, but it's now been announced that the DC villain will also get his very own solo film!

New Line Cinema is the production company that has been developing the films over at Warner Bros. and the report at THR says that the Shazam! and Black Adam films will be developed concurrently.

Dwayne Johnson recently had a big high-profile meeting with DC about his future involvement with them, and this is obviously what that meeting was about. It's pretty exciting, and it makes complete sense that the studio would want to build a film around him. I'm a big fan of Johnson, and I can't wait to see him in the role!

It's said that the Black Adam we see in the movie will be an anti-hero-type version of the character. The also say it "mirrors recent developments in the DC comics, in stories written by Johns, where Adam, while still a villain, was fighting against enemies who sought to enslave his people."

As of right now, there's no writer or director attached to the Black Adam film project, but it will be interesting to see who that talent turns out to be. As of this moment, Shazam! has a script that is being developed by Henry Gayden (Earth to Echo).

It's going to be fun to see how these two films turn out.
