Dwayne Johnson Shares 2 Photos From RAMPAGE Set of Himself and the Giant Gorilla George
We're learning more about the giant monster movie Rampage thanks to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson who took to Instagram today sharing a couple behind-the-scenes photos with new plot details for the upcoming film.
The photo is of Johnson and 6'9" actor Jason Liles who will be doing motion capture for the gorilla monster, appropriately named "George", who you can see an image of on a cake in one of the photos. It seems that Liles has his work cut out for him as The Rock says the actor has been "studying gorillas for months to prepare for the role".
Johnson says WETA Digital will be overseeing all the motion capture. You may remember the digital effects company, as it is best known for its incredible work on Avatar, the new take of the Planet of the Apes, and, of course, the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies. So it goes without saying that Rampage is going to have some mind-blowing visuals.
For additional plot details on the film, Johnson previously gave a rundown of the story that you can read here.
Rampage is based on a popular arcade video game and is due out in theaters on April 20, 2018
