Dwayne Johnson Teases Details From Upcoming HOBBS AND SHAW Sequel and Talks About the Role That Got Away

Dwayne Johnson recently made a Facebook video talking to his fans about his career, what he has coming up, and answered some of the questions that fans have asked him recently on social media. Johnson has created quite a few franchise-worthy characters that he has made a good living on, but probably his most well-known is Hobbs from the Fast and Furious franchise. But that role almost didn’t come about, as before he was approached for Fast Five, he had auditioned to play Jack Reacher. He was anxious to get that role, and pretty down when he lost it to Tom Cruise, but soon after, he got the call about Fast Five, and the rest is history.

Last year, we got to see his first spin-off film as the character Hobbs in Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. It was a fun and exciting movie with tons of fun and over-the-top action that was great for fans to enjoy. The movie did well enough to get a sequel, and in planning for the next adventure, Johnson said they “have a few more surprises, great characters to create, not the characters that Hobbs can just kick the shit out of, ‘cause that’s boring, but characters I think you’ll fall in love with — villains, antiheroes and heroes.”

Sounds like it’ll be another fun one! The first movie had a great cast, and it sounds like we can bank on some more cool cast members and a few new surprises.

Johnson can be seen next in the Netflix movie Red Note, scheduled for later this year, Disney’s Jungle Cruise, and DC’s Black Adam, both set for next year, and lots of other projects that don’t have dates yet, like Big Trouble In Little China, The King, San Andreas 2, and more.

Check out the video below, and let us know what project you are most looking forward to from The Rock.
