Dwayne Johnson’s RAMPAGE will Premiere One Week Early and There's a New Poster

The upcoming Rampage movie has me both excited and not excited. On the one hand, it looks like it’s going to be a fun giant monster movie based on a classic video game. On the other, I fear that they’ll try to create a cinematic universe and I don’t want that.

If you’re excited about the film, you’ll be happy to hear that its release date has been changed to April 13, 2018. This puts it a whole week ahead of schedule which means that you have to wait one less week to enjoy giant monsters destroying everything. This change is probably due to Avengers: Infinity War being moved to April 27, as the studio no doubt wants two weeks before the giant blockbuster hits theaters to get some decent box office numbers. When talking about the release date change, Johnson posted:

The new competition for Rampage includes Overboard, The Rider, Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero, Blumhouse’s Truth or Dare, and The Miracle Season.

Dwayne Johnson also recently shared an international poster design for the film and it features all three of the giant creatures. If you need a refresher on the synopsis, here you go:

Primatologist Davis Okoye shares an unshakable bond with George, an extraordinarily intelligent, silverback gorilla that’s been in his care since birth. When a rogue genetic experiment goes wrong, it causes George, a wolf and a reptile to grow to a monstrous size. As the mutated beasts embark on a path of destruction, Okoye teams up with a discredited genetic engineer and the military to secure an antidote and prevent a global catastrophe.

Rampage will star Dwayne Johnson, Naomie Harris, Malin Akerman, Jake Lacy, Joe Manganiello, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
