Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell Will Star in R-Rated Rom-Com Starring From EASY A Director Will Gluck

A new romantic comedy is headed our way that will star actors Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria, The White Lotus) and Glen Powell (Hidden Figures, Top Gun: Maverick). The project is being directed by Will Gluck, who previously directed Easy A, Friends With Benefits, and the Peter Rabbit movies.

While the plot to the R-rated romp is being kept under wraps, the project is based on Ilana Wolpert’s script, which Gluck is rewriting.

Sony landed the package at the end of last year and after figuring out Sweeney’s schedule with her Euphoria dates. Shooting is expected to start at the end of next month.

I like both of these actors, but their nine-year age difference really shows. I know Sweeney is in her 20s, but she really does look like a teenager, hence her strictly teenaged roles up to now. And Powell is solidly in his mid-thirties. So it seems a little icky to me. But maybe she will look older by the time this movie is done. Hopefully this will be a fun one. I do like this director’s comedic tone.
