Ed Helms and Randall Park Set to Host TRUE STORY a Hybrid Scripted/Unscripted Comedy Series at NBC

Ed Helms (The Office, The Hangover) and Randall Park (Fresh Off the Boat, Always Be My Maybe) are set to host a new series called True Story. This is a new type of hybrid series that will be both scripted as well as unscripted, wherein people will tell the hosts “about their extraordinary real-life experiences. As their stories unfold, they will be brought to life in heightened, star-studded re-enactments by a star-studded cast. Each hourlong episode will feature two stories.”

This sounds very similar to the hilarious series Drunk History, but will have regular people recounting their own crazy stories that will be re-enacted by celebrity guests. I love that idea, and I’m a huge fan of Helms and Park, so I think the show will be great!

Hopefully we will get the series later this year, as it doesn’t sound like it will be take too long to shoot, but we will keep an ear out and keep you posted. Does this sound like a series you would enjoy?
