Eddie Murphy Signs a Three-Picture Deal with Amazon Studios
I’ve got some exciting new for all you Eddie Murphy fans out there! The actor/comedian has recently signed a three-picture deal with Amazon Studios. It’s been great seeing Murphy make a come back and make good films again. He’s been on a roll with films such as Mr. Church, Dolemite Is My Name, and Coming 2 America. He;’s also got Beverly Hills Cop 4 coming up as well.
Coming 2 America was Amazon Prime’s most-watched movie on the streaming service in its opening weekend, so it makes sense that they’d want to stay in business with him!
Under the new deal, Murphy will star in three films for Amazon Studios and develop original film projects for Prime Video and Studios with the potential to star.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon Studios, said in a statement, “Eddie is a legend both in front of and behind the camera. With undeniable comedic and dramatic genius, he consistently delivers entertaining, original stories and characters to audiences around the world. We could not be more excited to help carry on the tradition and to officially welcome Eddie into the Amazon family.”
I’m interested to see what movies Murphy ends up making with Amazon. This is a great deal for him and he’s probably going to be given all the creative freedom that he wants, so I’m looking forward to seeing what he does with that!
