Eddie Murphy's 1982 Buddy-Cop Film 48 HRS. is Getting a Remake

Since Hollywood is running out of ideas, they are looking at remaking a 1982 film called 48 Hrs. with Eddie Murphy and Nick Nolte. The film is a buddy-cop comedy that helped launch the career of Murphy. The story followed a convict and cop who are forced to team up to catch a pair of cop killers within 48 hours.

The original movie, which was produced by Joel Silver, is entertaining and has some fun moments but it's far from being a great film. I'm not sure why anyone would want to remake this film because there's nothing original or unique about it. Films like this are a dime a dozen. Here's the trailer for the original film, in case you're not familiar with it:

The remake is set up at Paramount Players and it will be developed by the same team who brought us Robert Pattinson's crime thriller Good Time, Benny and Josh Safdie, who will write and direct the movie. Jerrod Carmichael, the comedian who starred on and co-created the NBC comedy The Carmichael Show, will also be a part of the project.

Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy make one of the most unusual and entertaining teams ever in Walter Hill's rollercoaster thriller, 48 Hrs. Nolte is a rough-edged cop after two vicious cop-killers. He can't do it without the help of smooth and dapper Murphy, who is serving time for a half-million dollar robbery.
