Edward Furlong Addresses John Connor's Role in TERMINATOR: DARK FATE - "It Kinda Bums Me Out"
Edward Furlong returned to the role of John Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate. If you haven’t seen the movie and you don’t want anything spoiled for you regarding the character, don’t read ahead. At this point, I doubt anyone cares, the movie bombed at the box office. But, just in case…
If you saw the movie, you know that that it started out with a scene that shows us what happened to John Connor. He was supposed to become the leader of the resistance, but in a cruel twist of fate, he ends up being murdered by one of the many Terminators sent back in time that had been hunting him down.
YouTuber Alex Leyba had a chance to catch up with Furlong at a convention and talked with him about Terminator: Dark Fate and a few other things. When asked about returning to the role of Connor, though, he said:
They smoked my ass! That was the role. I shot for one day. And, yeah, we did some CGI. They paid me. So, I mean, ya know. It kinda bums me out. Cause I’d love to do a whole one and make a shit-ton of money. I would love to do more, but we’ll see what happens.”
Yeah, I don’t think there would have ever been any future plans to continue the story of Furlong’s John Connor. But, he did seem a little disappointed they killed the character off. In all reality, with the box office failure of Dark Fate, we may never see another Terminator film again. What did you think about how John Connor’s character was handled in Dark Fate?
