Eerie Teaser Trailer For Mike Flanagan's Mysterious New Horror Netflix Series MIDNIGHT MASS
Netflix has released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming horror series Midnight Mass, which comes from Mike Flanagan, the director of The Haunting of Hill House. The series is set on Crockett Island, an isolated island community that experiences miraculous events and frightening omens following the arrival of a charismatic, mysterious young priest.
Flanagan is the writer, director, and executive producer on the series, and the cast includes Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights, The Purge: Anarchy), Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House), and Hamish Linklater (Legion) set in lead roles. Joining them are Annabeth Gish (The Haunting of Hill House), Michael Trucco (Hunter Killer), Samantha Sloyan (Grey’s Anatomy), Henry Thomas (The Haunting of Hill House), Rahul Abburi (Killer Ransom), Crystal Balint (The Bletchley Circle: San Francisco), Matt Biedel (Altered Carbon), Alex Essoe (Doctor Sleep), Rahul Kohli (Supergirl), Kristin Lehman (The Chronicles of Riddick), Robert Longstreet (Doctor Sleep), Igby Rigney (Blue Bloods) and Annarah Shephard.
I loved The Haunting of Hill House and Flanagan also worked on films such as Doctor Sleep and Gerald’s Game, both of which were great. Flanagan is a talented filmmaker and a great storyteller. So, I’m excited about this next project from him, it looks great so far!
Midnight Mass “tells the tale of a small, isolated island community whose existing divisions are amplified by the return of a disgraced young man (Zach Gilford) and the arrival of a charismatic priest (Hamish Linklater). When Father Paul’s appearance on Crockett Island coincides with unexplained and seemingly miraculous events, a renewed religious fervor takes hold of the community – but do these miracles come at a price?”
The trailer for Midnight Mass came with a letter from the director, and in that letter, Flanagan says that this is his “favorite project so far.” You can read the full letter below the trailer.
Midnight Mass premieres on Netflix on September 24.
