Elasti-Girl Has Been Cast in DC's Live-Action TITANS Series
Last week we learned that Bruno Bichir (Narcos) was cast in the role of The Chief in DC's live action Titans series. The Chief is a member of The Doom Patrol and he will be joined by Rita Farr, a.k.a. Elasti-Girl. According to EW, the character will be played by Drop Dead Diva alum April Bowlby.
The Doom Patrol is a group of superheroes similar to the Titans, but they’re not really happy with how they ended up getting superpowers. When it comes to Elasti-Firl, she was an actress on the rise, before she "was exposed to a toxic gas that altered her cellular structure — which, in the comics, allows her to expand or shrink her body at will. Longing for the days of old, Rita finds a place for herself among The Doom Patrol."
We still have yet to see what other members of The Doom Patrol end up in the series. Bowlby will join Brenden Thwaites as Robin, Ryan Potter in the role of Beast Boy, Anna Diop as Starfire, Teagan Croft as Raven, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach, Alan Ritchson as Hawk and Minka Kelly as Dove. The series is being written by Akiva Goldsman, DC Entertainment’s Geoff Johns and Greg Berlanti and this is the previously released synopsis:
Titans follows a group of young soon-to-be superheroes recruited from every corner of the DC Universe. In the action-adventure series, Dick Grayson emerges from the shadows to become the leader of a fearless band of new heroes that includes Starfire (Diop), Raven (Croft) and others.
Titans is set to debut on DC’s upcoming digital service sometime in 2018. Bowlby will next appear in an arc on the upcoming series remake of Heathers.
