Eldritch Foundry Makes It Easy to Create a Custom Miniature
If you play a tabletop RPG, there’s a good chance that you’ve bought or wanted to buy a miniature. Well, there are a number of options out there including a growing number of outlets that let you create your own custom minis. Eldritch Foundry is a relatively newer option that released last year after a successful Kickstarter campaign. They’ve reached out to me to check out their service, and I thought I’d share my thoughts. You can watch me go through the process of creating a mini below, or just keep reading for the condensed version.
Overall, Eldritch Foundry is pretty nice. The interface is very simple and easy to navigate. There wasn’t anything that made me question what it was for and the minis look pretty nice. This is definitely a place to check out if you’re in the market. It’s $35 per mini or you can simply buy the digital file for you to print on your own for only $2.50.
Now, Eldritch Foundry is relatively new, which means that it has a lot of room to grow. One of my biggest problems was the lack of capes. Why are there no capes? This is one of the fundamental needs for many characters. That would be one of the first additions if I were in charge. I also hope they continue to add new clothes, hairstyles, races (please give me a Yuan-ti!), etc. Also, I would absolutely love it if they added options to adjust the size of items and other aesthetics like horns. This would really help for some characters.
There is nothing that I hate about Eldritch Foundry. There are things I’m hoping will be added such as capes, but given time there should be plenty more great options. I did also really like the interface and user experience of Eldritch Foundry. If you’re wanting to create a custom mini, I would recommend checking out Eldritch Foundry. Eldritch Foundry is being kind and will be sending me a mini, and I’ll be following up with a review of the actual mini once it arrives.
