Elijah Wood Joins The Cast of YELLOWJACKETS Season 2
Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) has joined the cast of Showtime’s Yellowjackets Season 2. He will take on a guest-starring role, playing a character named Walter. Walter is “a dedicated Citizen Detective who will challenge Misty (Christina Ricci) in ways she won’t see coming.” That’s going to make for a fun and interesting dynamic! It’s great to see Wood is jumping on board the series!
Wood joins the recently announced cast of Simone Kessell, who will play adult Lottie and Lauren Ambrose who will play adult Van. The young teenage version of those characters were played by Courtney Eaton and Liv Hewson.
The original cast includes Melanie Lynskey, Juliette Lewis, Tawny Cypress, Ella Purnell, Samantha Hanratty, Sophie Thatcher, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Nélisse, Steven Krueger and Warren Kole.
The series was created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson. Yellowjackets tells the story of “a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.”
