Elisabeth Moss in Talks To Star in Universal's THE INVISIBLE MAN

Not long ago it was announced that Universal Pictures was moving forward on a remake of the classic monster movie The Invisible Man. Leigh Whannell (Upgrade, Insidious: Chapter 3) is going to write and direct the movie and now we’ve learned that the studio is looking to cast Elisabeth Moss (The Handmaid’s Tale) in it.

According to Variety, the actress is in early negotiations, but if she is cast, she will star in the film. There’s no word on who exactly she will be playing, but there’s always the chance she could end up playing The Invisible Woman.

There are no plot deals, but this will be the first film to be made and released under the studios new plan to remake some of their classic monster movies. It was previously explained the movie will launch a “fresh strategy for Universal’s monsters properties, bringing creative directors with distinctive visions to the classic characters.”

Johnny Depp was originally cast in the film, but the studio has since moved on from that concept due to the failure of Tom Cruise’s The Mummy.

Moss is a great actress, so whatever role she ends up playing in the movie, we know that she’s gonna give a solid performance.
