Elizabeth Cullen and Sofia Rose To Lead The Animated Adventure THE NEVERENDING PILLOW FORT with David Tennant, Guy Pearce, and Teresa Palmer

There’s a new animated film on the horizon that leans into childhood imagination while tapping into something a little more heartfelt about growing up. The Neverending Pillow Fort is bringing together a mix of rising talent and familiar faces, and it’s shaping up to be a fun, emotional ride for families.

At the center of the story are Elizabeth Cullen and newcomer Sofia Rose, who voice best friends Maggie and Abby. Their characters have spent years building pillow forts and dreaming up adventures, but things shift when Abby comes back from camp ready to explore life beyond their shared fantasy world. That shift puts pressure on their friendship in a way that feels pretty relatable.

But this isn’t just a grounded coming-of-age story. Their pillow fort turns out to have a magical twist, opening portals to different places around the world. What starts as a playful escape quickly turns into a globe-trotting journey that helps them reconnect, even as Maggie starts to realize that growing up sometimes means accepting change.

Backing them up is a solid supporting cast that includes David Tennant, Guy Pearce, Teresa Palmer, and Marsai Martin all lending their voices, which definitely adds some extra appeal for older audiences tuning in.

The film is currently in production in Australia, and it’s being directed by BAFTA nominee Allison Brownmoore, known for The Amazing Adventures of Awesome. The screenplay comes from Dominic Morris, alongside Gurinder Chadha and Paul Mayeda Berges.

Production is being handled by a group of studios including Crayola Studios, Alceon Entertainment Partners, Eclectik Vision, MIMO Studios, and Like A Photon Creative.

Sola Media’s Managing Director Solveig Langeland shared her excitement about the collaboration, saying:

“Building on our successful collaboration with Like A Photon Creative and MIMO Studios for The Pout-Pout Fish, we are excited to partner again on this new project.

“With the support of the beloved Crayola brand, we are convinced Maggie and Abbie will not only travel to all pillow forts all around the world but also connect kids and families that will be watching the film in theatres worldwide.”

Between its imaginative premise, emotional core, and a cast that spans generations, The Neverending Pillow Fort looks like it’s aiming to hit that sweet spot where kids get swept up in the adventure and adults find something a little deeper underneath it all.
