Elizabeth Debicki Will Play Princess Diana in THE CROWN Seasons 5 and 6
Elizabeth Debicki (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Tenet) is set to take on the role of Princess Diana in the fifth and sixth seasons of The Crown. I have to say, they couldn’t have gotten a better actress to play the late, famous royal.
The announcement was shared on Twitter, with the following statement by Debicki:
“Princess Diana’s spirit, her words and her actions live in the hearts of so many. It is my true privilege and honour to be joining this masterful series, which has had me absolutely hooked from episode one.”
Debicki joins the previously cast Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, and Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret.
The wonderfully made Netflix series has followed the story of the royal family through different eras from the 1940s to modern times. It started in the late 1940s and early 1950s with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s marriage and early careers. Season 3 made a time jump and took place during the 1960s and 1970s. A younger version of Princess Diana will be introduced in the upcoming fourth season and will be played by actress Emma Corrin. After that, Debicki will make her debut in the role in Season 5
Debicki is talented actress, and I’m sure that she will end up doing a wonderful job in the role of Princess Diana.
