Elizabeth Olsen Addresses Rumors That Scarlet Witch Might Become a Villain

It’s been said that the upcoming Disney+ series WandaVision will start Wanda Maximoff down the path of actually becoming Scarlet Witch. One of the big theories out there regarding the character is that this series will lead to the character becoming the villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

It’s not too far-fetched to think that this is how things could play out, after all, Scarlet Witch has been a villain before. Elizabeth Olsen actually addressed this rumor during a recent interview with CB. She obviously isn’t giving any clear answers, but when asked about it, she said:

"Well, she had. I mean, she had posed a threat that's how she started with her anger towards Stark and she had you know, she started as that rebel and then she realized that the power she was fighting for wasn't the actual good and so that's why she became who she is. And whatever fighting for good means evolves over time I guess but I think she found the Avengers to be the side of good.

"I know what [the evolution] means. I do think it is, it's almost like it's when I say coming of age story for her, it's more like coming up of a woman age story. Like you know, you start to come to terms with your past and who you are and take accountability for things and kind of coming to terms with yourself. I'll say."

With all of the heartache and pain that Maximoff has endured, and with how unstable her mind is at this point, she could easily break and go bad. That’s how I’d like to see the story play out. It’d be awesome seeing her as a super-powerful force to be reckoned with in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but who knows, maybe Marvel has something more interesting and surprising planned for her.
