Elizabeth Olsen Says DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Will Start Shooting in December
Marvel’s WandaVision series recently finished its reshoots, but MCU actress Elizabeth Olsen will be back working on another MCU project very soon. While speaking with Conde Nast Traveller, the actress revealed that production on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is starting in December and she’s headed to London to start shooting.
“I feel as if British people work to live – they don’t live to work, unlike in LA and New York. I am moving back soon to film the sequel to Doctor Strange, so I’ll be there for Christmas, just outside London. Even given the current circumstances, it will be a nice trip.”
Sam Raimi is directing the film, which I’m pretty damn excited about. I’m excited to see what he does with this movie! Olsen will join Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange along with Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor who will reprise their roles as Wong and Karl Mordo. Wanda Maximoff a.k.a. Scarlet Witch will also play a big role in the story. As we’ve previously reported, the events of WandaVision will lead into the events of the Doctor Strange sequel.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to finally crack open the Marvel multiverse in a huge way. Kevin Feige previously explained that the multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU and that the Doctor Strange sequel is the key, saying:
"When we first started the MCU, it was all about Tony Stark. Introduce the world to Tony Stark and that Iron Man armor. Then [we] went on to teach people what Asgardians were and learn about super soldiers then bring them together in Avengers. I've always loved space movies and I've always loved big intergalactic tales, which is why we did Guardians and the audience came with us so we could do a movie like Endgame. I always wanted to do time travel, which we finally got to do in Endgame. The multiverse is the next step in the evolution of the MCU and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is going to crack it open in ways that will have repercussions for a Disney+ series before it that's not WandaVision and for movies after it in a big fun way."
This is the film that I’m most excited about in Marvel’s upcoming Phase 4. I can’t wait to see what Marvel has in store for it and the future of the MCU!
