Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch Was Originally "Supposed To Kill More" in DOCTOR STRANGE 2
Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness featured Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff go full-on Scarlet Witch in the movie, and it was awesome! If you haven’t seen the movie yet, spoilers are ahead!
We knew that Scarlet Witch was going to be the big bad villain in this movie, but we didn’t know how far they were actually going to take it, and it was pretty shocking to see! Holy crap! Scarlet Witch went hardcore evil supervillain in this movie! Nothing was going to get in her way and she had no problem brutally killing people to get what she wanted.
In the movie, Wanda becomes corrupted by the Darkhold, and is hunting down Xochitl Gomez's America Chavez for the special power she holds that allows her to travel the multiverse. This would allow Wanda to reunite with her kids. To get to America, Wanda embarks on a murderous rampage and she kills a lot of people!
Well, it turns out that Scarlet Witch was supposed to be even darker and kill even more! Olsen revealed to Variety:
"I was also supposed to kill more. I had a hard time with it. I was like, these are human beings and Wanda is okay with ending their lives? But I just had to buckle down and think all these people are in her way and she's warned Doctor Strange not to get in her way. And he did. He didn't listen. And so I just had to go from that point of view."
Scarlett Witch ended up being one of the best villains that we’ve seen in the MCU and we got to see the full force of her power. It was also presented so well in the movie, she was absolutely terrifying. It’s hard to imagine her being more murderous! But, I’m curious to know who else she was originally supposed to kill in the movie!
