Ellen Page Set To Star in the Netflix Series UMBRELLA ACADEMY

Ellen Page is joining the cast of an upcoming Netflix adaptation of the popular comics and graphic novel series The Umbrella Academy. 

Variety reports that the live action series is about the estranged members of a dysfunctional family of superheroes – Luther, Diego, Allison, Vanya, Klaus and Number Five. The group works together to solve their father’s mysterious death while facing conflict among each other because of their personalities and abilities. Page will play Vanya, the black sheep of her family. 

Page most recently starred in Flatliners, but is probably best known for her role as the pregnant teen in Juno and Kitty Pryde in the X-Men franchise.

The Umbrella Academy series is based on the graphic novels created and written by Gerard Way and published by Dark Horse Comics. The series will be produced by Universal Cable Productions. Steve Blackman will serve as showrunner and executive producer The pilot script is written by Jeremy Slater.
