Ellen Page Wants in on Tim Miller’s KITTY PRYDE Solo Movie

Deadpool director Tim Miller is currently developing a Kitty Pryde solo film with comic writer Brian Michael Bendis. The project is being referred to as 143, which is said to be a hint at the inspiration behind the film’s story.

143 is said to be a reference to Uncanny X-Men No. 143, which was released in 1981. It is one of the earliest Kitty Pryde stories and it focuses on her first solo adventure, which sees her face off with a demon alone in the X-Mansion. That comic comes from the creators of Kitty Pryde, Chris Claremont and John Byrne.

During a recent interview with Cinemablend, Ellen Page said she is aware of the film project, but that she’s not sure if she will be involved or not. However, if the filmmakers did want her to come back and reprise her role, she’d totally be up for it! She said:

"I loved playing Kitty Pryde, and I think one of the things I always felt was I wish I could have done more. My experience in the films wasn't necessarily that extensive and she is such a great character. I don't know anything about the movie to be honest with you, but yeah, of course, that's something I'd love to do, but I don't know."

Page made her big debut as Kitty in Brett Ratner’s X-Men: The Last Stand, and she reprised her role in X-Men: Days of Future Past.

The actress has always done a fine job in the role, and if she came back for this solo film, I wouldn’t mind. However, I imagine that whatever Miller and Bendis are developing will end up featuring a new actress in the role. It seems like a "start from scratch" kind of standalone story, and I’m fine with recasting the character as well.

As long as there’s a solid script that tells a good story, everything will fall into place. Would you like to see Ellen Page reprise her role? Or would you rather see another young actress jump on board? If so, who would you like to see in the role?
