Emilia Clarke Addresses Possibility of Return as Qi'ra in Another STAR WARS Project

I liked Emilia Clarke's character Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, and it’s a bummer that there are no plans to explore that character further at the moment in the Star Wars universe. If there are plans, we don’t know about them! There is a very interesting story to explore there and it would really be interesting to see it explored in the same style as the Andor series.

Since starring in Solo, the actress has gone on to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to appear in the upcoming Disney+ series Secret Invasion. Clarke has had a lot of experience playing around in big franchises and when asked if she was looking to reprise her role as Qi’ra, she denied that anything is being planned. But, she is currently having a great time playing in the Marvel sandbox. She told IndieWire:

“I mean… no. That would be lovely, that would be very nice. I’m genuinely having a wicked time on Marvel, though, they’re absolutely brilliant.”

So, if asked to come back for more Star Wars action, she most likely will be into it, but as of right now, nothing is in the cards. But, that will hopefully change.

At the end of Solo, we learn that Qi'ra is a Crimson Dawn crime lord on the rise who is working for Darth Maul, which was quite a fun cliffhanger. Now, the film’s screenwriter, Jonathan Kasdan, thinks we will see her story continue. He even previously had conversations about her with Jon Favreau. He talked about that saying:

"I think we are. I think someday we're gonna see what happened, and how Qi'ra sort of advanced through the world, through the crime syndicates. I've talked to Jon Favreau about it, and he's a big fan of [Solo] and some of the stuff we built out. And I said, 'Well, you're the guy to figure it out.' I always look to him to keep the story alive and keep it going.

"Star Wars is going in so many fun directions. And specifically, I saw that trailer for Andor today, and I thought, 'Well, Enfys Nest is gonna show up somewhere in that show.' So I'm hopeful that a lot of those people continue the journeys they were on."

In Marvel's ongoing Star Wars comics, it’s revealed that Qi'ra actually stole Han Solo's carbonite-frozen body. Crimson Dawn also made an uneasy alliance with Leia and the Rebels in an effort to sabotage and take down the Galactic Empire.

Would you want to see Qi’ra’s story continue in some way in the Star Wars universe?
