Emilia Clarke to Play Poet Elizabeth Barrett in Love Story LET ME COUNT THE WAYS
Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones, Me Before You) has been hired on to the new movie Let Me Count the Ways, in which she will play Elizabeth Barrett, 19th Century British poet. Variety gives us the following synopsis for the film:
Set in the mid-19th century, the film follows Elizabeth as she is living in the family home with her siblings in an affluent part of London. She has gained fame and recognition for her poetry but, weakened by a mysterious illness, lives as a virtual recluse, reliant on laudanum. The youthful, impulsive Robert Browning comes into her life, awakening a passion she had previously only ever written about. But the closer she and Browning get, the more her father fights to keep control over her.
I think this is brilliant casting. Clarke is one of the greatest young British actresses out there right now, and she was so beautiful and charming in the love story Me Before You. I can’t wait to see who they cast as Robert Browning, and I will definitely be seeing this film.
Is this the type of movie you like to watch? Who would you like to see cast opposite Emilia Clarke?
