Actress Emma Roberts (We Are the Millers, American Horror Story) has signed a first look deal with Hulu to adapt novels for the TV streaming service. First up, Roberts has taken on Tell Me Lies to star in and produce from her production company, Belletrist TV. The novel was published in 2018 and was written by new novelist Carola Lovering.

Deadline provides this synopsis:

Tell Me Lies tells the story of a young woman’s obsession with a man who’s good at being charming. When Lucy Albright arrives on the campus of her small college, away from her mother whom she’s never forgiven for an act of betrayal in her early teen years, Lucy embraces college life and all it has to offer. But everything changes when she meets Stephen DeMarco, who has a mysterious past of his own. Their addicting entanglement will have consequences they never could have imagined.

This deal and this project are a good match for the talented actress. I am interested in Tell Me Lies as well as the other projects she brings to Hulu. Does this sound like a good story to you?
