There have been rumors that Emma Stone might reprise her role as Gwen Stacy in Sony and Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home. There have been reports of a lot of past Spider-Man characters showing up in the film, but Stone set the record straight during a recent interview with  MTV News.

In that interview, Stone was asked about the rumors of her appearing in the next Spider-Man movie, but she denied them and flat out says that she’s not involved.

She said, "I have heard those rumors. I don't know if I'm supposed to say anything, but I'm not [involved].” She then mouthed the words "I'm not" and added, "I don't know what you're supposed to respond as an alumnus."

So, it seems we can count Stone out. She played Gwen Stacy opposite Andrew Garfield's Peter Parker in Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man films. Garfield was also reportedly supposed to appear in No Way Home, but he also denied his involvement saying that he never got a call from Marvel or Sony to appear in the movie.

So far the only confirmed main cast members for the film include Tom Holland as Peter Parker and he’s joined by Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange. Alfred Molina is reprising his role as Doctor Octopus, and Jamie Foxx as Electro. Then you got Zendaya as MJ, Marisa Tomei and May Parker, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Tony Revolori as Flash Thompson, and Jon Favreau as Happy Hogan.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is being directed by Tom Watts and it’s currently set to be released on December 17th, 2021.
