Emma Stone To Star in Comedy Series THE CURSE From Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie
Emma Stone has signed on to star in a new half-hour comedy series at Showtime called The Curse that is being made by Nathan Fielder and Benny Safdie, who will also co-star. The series was picked up by the cabler, and it will have other Safdie brother Josh Safdie executive producing via their Elara Pictures banner, alongside Fielder and Stone, who exec produces through her Fruit Tree banner, as well as A24 producing.
Deadline reports that “The genre-bending comedy explores how an alleged curse disturbs the relationship of a newly married couple as they try to conceive a child while co-starring on their problematic new HGTV show.”
This will be the first series for the Safdie Brothers who are known for their films Good Time and Uncut Gems, and the second for Stone after her 2018 Netflix series, Maniac. Fielder wrote, directed and starred in the series Important Things With Demetri Martin and Nathan For You.
I’m a big fan of everyone involved in this project. It sounds like it will be really funny and different. Does it sound like a series you’ll want to watch?
