Emotionally Heavy Trailer for Vanessa Kirby and Shia LaBeouf Netflix Drama PIECES OF A WOMAN
Netflix has shared a trailer for an upcoming heavy drama titled Pieces of a Woman. The film is going to be quite an emotional ride, as the film puts a focus on capturing the challenging stages of grief, anger, sadness, and frustration following a difficult tragedy between a husband and wife.
The film stars Vanessa Kirby and Shia LaBeouf as a couple in Boston named Martha and Sean. They are on the verge of parenthood when their lives change irrevocably when a home birth ends in tragedy. “Thus begins a yearlong odyssey for Martha, who must navigate grief while working through fractious relationships with Sean and her domineering mother, along with the publicly vilified midwife, whom she must face in court. Pieces of a Woman is a deeply personal, searing, and ultimately transcendent story of a woman learning to live with her loss.”
Pieces of a Woman was directed by Kornél Mundruczó (This I Wish and Nothing More, Pleasant Days, Johanna, Delta, Tender Son, White God, and Jupiter's Moon) and the rest of the cast includes Ellen Burstyn, Molly Parker, Sarah Snook, Iliza Shlesinger, Benny Safdie, and Jimmie Fails.
The film has been shown at some film festivals and the reviews for it seems to have been mostly positive. As you’ll see, it looks like the film captures the complex and raw emotions of a tragic situation like this.
Pieces of a Woman will be released in select theaters on December 30th, then it will be available streaming on Netflix starting January 7th, 2021.
