Endearing and Funny Trailer For Rom-Com I WANT YOU BACK Starring Jenny Slate and Charlie Day
Amazon Prime has released a funny trailer for their upcoming romantic comedy I Want You Back, starring Jenny Slate (SNL), Charlie Day (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), and Scott Eastwood (The Fate of the Furious). The movie follows two people (played by Slate and Day) who find themselves both crying over recently being dumped, and they connect over their grief, becoming friends while hatching a plan to break their exes up from their new relationships, leaving them open to get back together.
The film is directed by Jason Orley, in his second feature after making Big Time Adolescence previously. The screenplay is written by partners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who wrote and produced the film Love, Simon and the series This is Us, as well as the upcoming series How I Met Your Father.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Peter (Charlie Day) and Emma (Jenny Slate) thought they were on the precipice of life’s biggest moments – marriage, kids, and houses in the suburbs – until their respective partners dumped them. Horrified to learn that the loves of their lives have already moved on, Peter and Emma hatch a hilarious plan to win back their exes with unexpected results.
Supporting cast for the film also includes Manny Jacinto, Isabel May, Jami Gertz, Clark Backo, and Dylan Gelula. This movie looks like it’s going to be really funny.
