Engineer Builds a Rideable Real-Life Transformer, and It's Pretty Cool

Some childhood dreams just won’t die. Case in point, engineer James Bruton, who actually built a rideable Transformer that can switch between a small drivable car and a towering six-foot humanoid robot.

In the video below, Bruton shows off the mechanics behind the project, which transforms (slowly, but still!) from vehicle to upright robot mode with the push of a button.

It’s not about speed or battle-readiness, it’s just about the sheer joy of making something this absurdly fun.
